ABOUT ZARAMARĺA

¡Hola!

I am a bilingual, multifaceted performer and artist from Puerto Rico who is meticulous and adaptable in all her work. I am known for being an approachable person, as well as for my vivacious yet grounded personality. I’m your next Chita Rivera meets Bernadette Peters.

Having started my career as a dancer, I have extensive experience and training in many styles, ranging from Theatre Jazz to Salsa On2, Commercial Dance, K-Pop, and more. This background and more recent training in Stage Combat and the Suzuki method have helped me to become a physical actor. I also specialized in Meisner and Shakespeare techniques that have heavily informed my work as a singer.

I am someone who is curious about life and culture, while always proudly representing my own. I’m constantly learning and immersing myself in new skills. I try traveling as much as I can to gain amazing stories and experiences from people all over the globe. My biggest dream is to visit every country in the world and learn their national dances.

Yo soy Boricua, ¡pa’que tú lo sepas!

I was born and raised in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, La Isla del Encanto. That is until I decided to move an ocean away to New York to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre at LIU Post. I made this huge decision because, when Lin-Manuel Miranda brought Hamilton to PR to raise funds after hurricane María, I got a chance to see it for the first time and right after the end of the first number, my life changed forever; right then and there I knew I needed to pursue this career of artistry and storytelling for the rest of my life. I am super grateful I made that brave step because I am now living my wildest dreams and getting to follow my true passion in New York!

My interests!

I’ve loved my experiences as assistant choreographer, dance captain, and swing because I learn and pick up things easily, even if I’m not trying to. I have a “swing brain” and it is so thrilling to develop it more!

I love working on new and original projects. I love the secrecy of it all, but mostly I enjoy the process of collaborating and exploring new ideas to tell stories that have never been done before! I’d love to choreograph an original show one day!

Although theatre is my first love, I’ve really gotten into commercial dance recently. I think my dream job in that industry would be to be a dancer for BTS or any of its members!
